State Emergency Service (SES)
Managed ICT Solutions
In Western Australia, the State Emergency Service (SES) is a highly specialised volunteer-based division of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
While DFES is the overarching government department (which employs professional career firefighters and staff), the SES itself is almost entirely made up of more than 2,000 volunteers who live and work in the communities they serve.
Metroway partners with regional SES units throughout the Pilbara and Gascoyne to deliver critical internet, mobile, and voice connectivity. By providing remote management and 24/7 monitoring of their endpoints, we ensure their systems remain mission-ready the moment an emergency occurs.
Empowering our community through accessible technology is at the heart of what we do.

Always in Communication
We equip participating SES units with enterprise-grade connectivity, featuring high-speed fixed internet backed by LTE/5G and Starlink ready failover. This multi-layered approach ensures resilient communication during even the most severe cyclones and natural disasters. Utilising fully managed Ubiquiti networking, Metroway monitors the network; we resolve technical issues 'back-of-house' so volunteers can focus on their tasks. We recognise that volunteer groups often lack dedicated ICT resources, we are proud to provide the support they need to function at their best.
